The packages that are provided by these companies generally contain training on fire awareness, information on how to choose and use the various types of fire extinguisher and information on slips, trips and falls. If your work takes place within an office, the packages will also teach you exactly how you should be sitting at your desk so that you reduce the chances of incurring back pain because of repetitive strain injury (RSI).
If your work involves a substantial amount of manual labour, the packages will also teach you how to ensure that you are lifting items correctly, without causing yourself any injury.
By undertaking a
basic safety course course, ultimately there would be a significant reduction in the number of days taken off sick due to illness or accidents and all staff will be healthier and happier. In addition to this, staff will be happier and confident knowing that they are working in a much safer environment.
